New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin and Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Eugene Boakye Antwi has expressed disappointment at both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and NPP for not punishing perpetrators of violence in the political landscape.
And has called for punitive actions to be taken against trouble formentors during the registration exercise to serve as deterrent for others to guarantee a free and fair elections.
Speaking as a panel in Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, he said those behind the violence especially those perpetrating violence in the ongoing voter registration exercise and yet the political parties and security agencies aren’t bringing them to book.
According to him everybody knows who the perpetrators of the violence are and if for nothing at all the police have the records, and the need for the NDC and NPP to come together and “make sure trouble makers arrested and prosecuted regardless of who is involved , both NDC and NPP so it gives a signal of seriousness in addressing violence at our Electoral landscape.”
“Criminal in suits who pretend to be politicians who maim and murder people just because of political power should be made to face the law irrespective of which political party they belong,” Eugene Boakye Antwi said.
